Peak News Network is a local news aggregator for Apex, North Carolina, created and maintained by Terry Mahaffey. The goal is simple: provide a single destination where residents can stay informed about what's happening in their community.

How it works

Stories from trusted local news sources are collected automatically via their public RSS feeds and displayed here in a unified, easy-to-read format. Sources include outlets like WRAL, ABC11, The Line, the Town of Apex, and others. This is primarily an aggregation service — the original reporting belongs to and is produced by the respective news organizations.

I do not personally endorse, verify, or take responsibility for the content produced by the aggregated news sources. The articles, headlines, and summaries shown here are sourced directly from the publishers' feeds. The one exception is my own newsletter, which I author myself.

Tools

The civic tools available on this site — such as Peak Projects, Historical Tax Information, and election-related tools — are built and maintained by me. Tools marked as External are created by third parties; I do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for their content or functionality. Use them at your own discretion.

Why I built this

Local news matters, and it can be hard to keep up with when it's scattered across multiple outlets, social media pages, and government websites. Peak News Network is a public service — a way to make it a little easier for people in Apex to stay in the loop.
